Riedel Communications Celebrated Chinese Office Opening In Beijing

Riedel Communications, known for pioneering advanced intercom and radio technology, celebrated the opening of their Chinese Office in Beijing. The opening ceremony on March 28th, which was attended by more than 50 selected guests, included speeches of Thomas Riedel, Managing Director of Riedel Communications, Dr. Volker Stanzel, German Ambassador in China and Alexis Iliadis, former Technical Director for Telecommunications at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. The office is located in the Hui Bin Office Building near the new national Olympic Stadium and provides not only a great panoramic view but also excellent logistical conditions for the Olympics.

Thomas Riedel stated that the office is not being opened just for the Olympic Games. “The upcoming Olympic Games might be the first highlight where we can show our dedication to the Chinese market. But the Olympic Games are not the only reason why we decided to open an office here in China. We see a lot of potential for the future both for event rental services and for product sales in this market”, said Thomas Riedel, Managing Director of Riedel Communications.

During the celebration Alexis Iliadis, former Technical Director for Telecommunications at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, gave a brief review on the organisation of the 2004 Olympics and the services provided by Riedel. “Looking back it can be stated that selecting Riedel was a good strategic move for Athens 2004, because all deadlines agreed were met irrespective to the last minute changes that very frequently were requested by Athens 2004”, said Iliadis.

The celebration was concluded by a traditional Chinese lion dance performance, which is said to bring good fortune and success to the new office. For the painting of the lion’s eye, which is a part of the lion dance, Thomas Riedel introduced Tai-Kwan Chan as the new General Manager for Riedel’s Beijing office. Having previously worked with Sony, Chan has many years of management experience in the broadcast industries. ”I look forward to developing the Chinese broadcast & installation markets together with my Chinese team”, said Chan.
