Service and Support Engineer (m/f) (SSE 110)

This job is located in Glendale, CA 91201, USA.
 
For this position, we are looking for a technical skilled person who meets the requirements listed below:
 
Your responsibilities:
 
You will be responsible for the entire Service / Repair process and assist the Head of Technical Services with daily tasks.
 
  • Confirm error descriptions of incoming repairs
  • Must be able to assess whether repairs can be done in house our outsourced
  • Follow up with customers about project / repair status
  • Repair devices on component level
  • Coordinate repair shipments with the Logistic Specialist
  • Manage spare parts and repair loaner systems and demo equipment
  • Configure systems and demo equipment
  • Check condition of returning equipment
  • Perform software updates on customer and demo systems
  • Take technical support calls, provide solutions or escalate the issue to the System Specialists
 
Your profile:
 
  • Degree / Education in Communications or Electrical Engineering (young professionals/ career starters welcome)
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Experienced in SMD soldering
  • Experience with reading and interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams, down to component level
  • Good knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office
  • Technical understanding and/or knowledge / interest in digital audio and video technology are beneficial
  • Basic knowledge about IP based Networks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills including the ability to develop and sustain productive relationships, both internally and externally
  • Flexible, dependable and reliable work ethic incl. effective time management (ability to meet established deadlines), hands on mentality
  • Strong communication skills with customer service orientation
  • Additional languages skills (French, Spanish and/or German) would be appreciated
