Riedel – New products at NAB ´09

Riedel Communication, one of the leading manufacturers of intercom, fiber and network technology unveiled several new products at this year's NAB in Las Vegas expanding the existing portolio with new solution for intercom, radio or trunking applications.

At NAB 2009 in Las Vegas Riedel presented the new intelligent trunking interface ACTOR – a revolutionary solution that allows intelligent trunking between Riedel Artist Digital Matrix Intercom systems and third party intercom installations. It provides seamless communications between both systems. ACTOR is self-configuring and auto-senses the amount of available audio connections. It understands the “language” and functions of third party intercoms.

NAB 09 ist the US debut for Riedels new Acrobat Digital Wireless Intercom series. The Acrobat system is a full-duplex, wireless communications intercom, which takes a completely new approach, pushing it beyond the limits of existing wireless intercoms and allowing the operation of an unlimited number of wireless beltpacks.

The Riedel Artist 5000 series control panels offer a cost-effective entry to the world of Artist Digital Matrix Intercom applications. The panels are available in two versions either with marker strips or with 8 character, high-contrast LCD displays, which show the label for each talk key. The control panels with LCD-display are also equipped with a “shift”-page, essentially doubling up the number of keys to a total of 16.

Furthermore Riedel expanded its comprehensive hybrid TDM/IP intercom range with the Connect IPx2 panel interface. It is designed to connect up to two Artist control panels to Artist intercom matrices via IP based networks. Connect IPx2 is the perfect team mate for Riedel’s VoIP-108 eight channel VoIP client card. Developed for mission critical applications such as live broadcast productions, the device provides several failsafe options, which ensure audio is available even under extreme conditions. The range of supported codecs includes PCM, G.711 and G.722 with packet loss concealment – a unique feature in the world of intercom.

With the RiFace G2 Riedel unveils the new generation of the highly acclaimed industry standard interface for the integration of 2-way radios into wired intercoms. The new RiFace G2 expands the possibilities with a more convenient operation via color display, rotary encoder and advanced signalization. Further enhancements include a reduction in weight, improved thermal management and a card slot for future options.

The latest update to Riedel's intercom configuration Software Director brings an extensive IFB functions. It allows the user to assign inputs and outputs of any IFB to different ports. The new IFB table optimizes Director’s workflow by giving a clean and comprehensive overview of all IFB assignments. Director’s extensive logic functions already allowed the easy programming of complex production processes. Version 5.90 expanded the logic functions, which now include D-Flip-Flop, Monoflop, Clock, XOR, NOR, NAND, NOP and XNOR. In addition the new scroll list function provides up to 1,000 entries per list, giving direct access from the panel to almost any port of a system.
