PROCON Switches to Riedel’s Digital Partyline Intercom
PROCON, the international full-service provider of technical equipment for events, film and TV productions, is switching their rental pool to Riedel’s digital partyline intercom Performer. As a first step, Riedel Communications, a leading manufacturer of advanced intercom and radio technology, delivered ten Performer CR-4 master stations, 150 digital 2-channel beltpacks C3 and 20 C31 split-boxes. The order also included 30 Riedel MAX intercom headsets and four C44 system interfaces to provide seamless integration of partyline intercom with matrix intercom systems.
“We knew Riedel’s digital partyline systems from previous events, such as the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens,” explained Klaus Rahe, Director Sound with PROCON. “The digital sound quality was amazing, especially in combination with Riedel’s noise absorbing MAX Headsets. Annoying noises you’re used to from analog products are just not there. This makes the job definitely less fatiguing.”
The Performer Series provides a comprehensive portfolio of 2 and 4-channel master stations, rack-mount, wall-mount and desktop speaker stations as well as 2-channel beltpack headset stations. The components can be daisy-chained with XLR cables – just like their analog counter parts – but offer digital audio quality, perfect side-tone nulling and seamless matrix integration.
“Another reason we choose Riedel’s Performer was the perfect integration of matrix intercom systems. This makes Performer the first choice for big events, too”, added Rahe. The C44 system interface enables the seamless integration of digital partylines in matrix intercom environments. The partylines are configured easily per drag-and-drop in the same configuration software as the matrix. This offers maximum flexibility without the need for re-cabeling – which is especially valuable in critical live situations.
PROCON will use the new Performer systems at all large music and TV productions, including the upcoming ECHO award ceremonies on February 15th. “In the past we have already worked very successfully with Riedel’s digital matrix intercom Artist. Now we can finally provide our customers with the same digital audio quality in partyline applications,” said Udo Willburger, Key Account Manager and Member of the Board at PROCON
