Past performance and quality draw TVE back to Riedel for spain's largest broadcast intercom installation

Wuppertal, Germany – Citing prior satisfaction with Riedel equipment, its ability to deliver unparalleled audio quality, and connectivity via dual fiber ring, TVE – the national broadcaster of Spain – has chosen the Company’s Artist platform for the Country’s largest broadcast intercom project and one of the more important installations in all of Europe. The project comprises a total of 29 Artist frames, 900 control panels, 150 Connect Duo ISDN codecs and 75 digital beltpacks. Delivery is scheduled for late Q4 2005.

Working with Siemens, Riedel’s systems and distribution partner in Spain, TVE configured an integrated system that will link communications of 16 locations. Three main centers, located in Torrespaña and Prado del Rey, Madrid, and Sant Cugat del Vallés, Barcelona, will receive Artist M frames linked by a redundant optical fibre ring. The installations feature both Artist 1000 series LED control panels and Artist 2000 series LCD control panels, 4-wire interfaces, integrated ISDN codecs, AES signals, and Performer digital belt-packs. Riedel’s trunking software, Trunk Navigator, will handle the communications between the centers.

The 13 regional centers will use Artist S frames, 2000 series LCD panels, and Connect Duo ISDN codecs to communicate with each other and the main centers. In addition, numerous remote panels with Connect Duo ISDN codecs will be added to the regional centers for additional applications and reporters as needed. Riedel’s newest generation of ISDN codecs (Connect Duo) are able to establish direct dialing from / to the control panels.

An extended version of Riedel’s Master Control Room (MCR) Plug-In will be added to the intuitive configuration software Director to accommodate conferences of panels, 4-wires, and ISDN signals. All studios will be equipped with the new Performer C44 System Interfaces and C3 Digital belt-packs.

“Riedel is delighted that TVE selected us after they received proposals from every other major intercom manufacturer in the world,” said Thomas Riedel, managing director. “We are happy to add such a highly respected organization to the list of other significant projects we have facilitated this year. Although TVE is the biggest single order in our Company’s history, we have also recently furnished sizable systems to DR BYEN, NOB and BR.“
