Riedel brings dramatic new Intercom Technology to market at IBC 2005
Amsterdam, Netherlands (9 September 2005) – Riedel Communications is demonstrating dramatic developments in the Company’s core product series comprised of a fibre-based, masterless digital matrix intercom platform for the distribution of analogue and digital audio and TCP/IP data at IBC 2005. Known for pioneering advanced intercom technology in the broadcast industry, the Company is introducing a complete new series of Artist intercom frames that emphasize scalability and flexibility, and more versatile control options in Stand 10.131. A new line of 2000 series LCD control panels will also be on hand for its official European debut.
Next Generation Artist Intercom Systems
The next generation of Riedel’s Artist allows ALL frame sizes to use the same type of controller and client cards significantly reducing expansion costs and the need for spare pooling. Other enhanced features include increased memory for complex, multi-node installations, a superior alarm signalisation, optimized cooling concept for quiet operation, compatibility with other Artist frames, and a flexible fibre option enabling the user to easily change from single to multi-mode, or high-power.
The series provides three sizes of mainframes with a maximum number of 32, 64 and 128 ports per frame. Designed for critical applications like broadcast studios, every frame-size is a fully redundant system with redundant controller cards and redundant power supplies. All modules are hot-swappable while a superior alarm signalisation monitors potential failures both as a hardware alarm and a software alarm in the Director configuration software.
Artist Control Panels
The new 2000 panel series joins Riedel’s classic 1000 series to offer easily adjustable, wide-ranging control options for any Artist intercom infrastructure.
The 2000 LCD series fulfills all requirements of high-quality versatile and economical intercom control key-panels. The series, available in 19“/1RU and desktop versions, features 8-digit, high-contrast, full graphic LCD displays, showing label and cross-point level for each talk key. The unique push-buttons are illuminated with definable marker colors to allow instant function identification ( e.g. an incoming call with yellow or an activated “Listen to”-function with blue).
The rack mount panels can be positioned horizontally or vertically.
