Riedel's Artist S comprises the heart of three major swiss theatre installations
Zurich, Switzerland/Wuppertal, Germany (July 13, 2005) – Riedel’s Artist S digital intercom matrix can be found at the heart of the communications infrastructures of three prestigious Swiss projects. Hallenstadion and Theater11 in Zurich, and the Paul Klee Center in Bern are all using the scalable architecture of the Artist platform and Riedel’s flexible digital partyline system. Tele Comm Sportservice AG, Riedel’s new distribution partner in Switzerland. Is managing all the projects.
The Hallenstadion in Zurich, built in 1939, is the biggest multi-purpose hall in Switzerland accommodating approximately 1 million visitors per year. The hall will be reopened at the end of July 2005 following extensive renovations. The new communications infrastructure seamlessly integrates the matrix systems, radio systems and the world’s first digital partyline system. The installation comprises an Artist S 32x32 ports matrix, Artist 1000 LED series control panels, RiFace radio interface and 12 digital Performer Series 2-channel intercom beltpacks. The intercom is connected to the audio router via a 4-wire interface.
”The numerous possibilities for using the Artist platform have convinced us. We use Artist not only as a user-friendly intercom system, but also for the transport of digital audio. The extensive interfacing possibilities are a further plus - whether you want to connect to radio systems, a digital AES audio router or wired partyline systems“, says Thomas Kögl, project manager of Habegger Media Performance, system integrator in charge.
Theater11 in Zurich, the Swiss capital’s preferred venue for international musical, dance and theatre productions, utilizes Artist S for the house intercom as well as a critical component of the facility’s evacuation system.
The Paul Klee Center in Bern has installed an integrated system of wireless and wired intercom technology for in-house communications. The Center, opened in June 2005, houses the world’s most important collection of Paul Klee’s creative periods with more than 4,000 works, and also serves as a multi-functional venue that includes a cinema and concert hall. The intercom configuration features an Artist S, Artist 1000 LED panels and Riedel’s digital partyline Performer. Interfacing to radio systems is achieved by a RiFace radio interface, and a telephone hybrid connects the system to the „outside“-world. The intercom is directly connected to the digital audio router via AES3. The project’s system integrator in charge is John Lay Electronics.
